Comparison of some income ETFs
As I approach retirement age, I'm starting to look closer and closer at dividend ETFs.
I'm no professional, so please excuse this amateur's attempt at comparing some popular dividend ETFs. I'm posting my "research" here with the aim of helping others out, and learning. I'd be happy to be corrected.
Basically, I wanted to answer the question: how much do I need to invest to get a certain amount of monthly income. I picked $15,000/mo after taxes. Which became $25K pre-tax, per my back of the envelope calculation (these are all approximate numbers, so let's not quibble and argue about the small stuff).
Here's a table from my spreadsheet. It does the calculations. Dividends are from late August.
"Trend" is the slope of the % change of price of the ETF.
My naive read is: I'd invest in ETFs that offer the highest dividends, while having a positive trend. WDYT?
