\*\*Short interest data (Fintel, as of last FINRA settlement):\*\*
\- Short Interest: \*\*24,883,199 shares\*\*
\- Short Interest % Float: \*\*18.08%\*\*
\- Short Interest Ratio: \*\*0.14 days to cover\*\*
\- Off-Exchange Short Volume: \*\*42,841,110 shares\*\* (FINRA, incl. dark pool)
\- Off-Exchange Short Volume Ratio: \*\*41.64%\*\*
That off-exchange short volume number alone (42.8M) already \*\*exceeds the entire reported short interest\*\* (24.88M). Reported short interest is stale — FINRA only updates twice a month — so the real current short position is very likely materially higher than the official 18.08% once the next print drops.
\*\*Borrow supply just took a real hit — pulled straight from the intraday tracker this morning:\*\*
| Time (ago) | Shares available to borrow |
|---|---|
| 11 hrs | 4,100,000 |
| 10 hrs | 4,000,000 |
| 8 hrs | 4,600,000 |
| 6 hrs | 4,800,000 |
| 4 hrs | 4,600,000 |
| 2 hrs | 4,700,000 |
| 1 hr | \*\*600,000\*\* |
| 1 hr | 1,300,000 |
| 34 min | 1,600,000 |
| 4 min | 1,700,000 |
Borrow availability held steady overnight around 4.6-4.8M, then \*\*collapsed \~87% to 600K within about an hour\*\* this morning before partially recovering to 1.7M. That kind of sudden borrow-supply shock is a textbook signal of real squeeze pressure building — it's getting harder and pricier for anyone to add new shorts right now. (Note: this is one prime broker's own lendable inventory, not the whole market — directional signal, not an absolute count.)
\*\*Reference points, not predictions:\*\* the stock's own 52-week high sits at $3.05 — a real level with real trading history, so that's the natural technical magnet if this keeps running. Anything beyond that is genuinely unknowable; squeezes don't follow normal valuation math once they get going (see: GME going \~24x intraday back in Jan 2021 — not saying this repeats, just illustrating how far a real squeeze can decouple from "fair value").
\*\*TL;DR:\*\* Live merger arb + thin float + short interest likely understated by the official print + a real borrow-supply crunch this morning = still-active squeeze setup, not a spent one. Full disclosure I'm positioned in this (calls) and have skin in the game — do your own DD, this moves fast in both directions and I'm not a financial advisor.
\*\*EDIT AND A BIG ONE:\*\* They SHORTED EVERY SHORT SHARE 1hr AGO... SHORTS ARE FUCKED: [https://fintel.io/ss/us/gpro](https://fintel.io/ss/us/gpro)
