=== SUMMARY ===
- The post argues that AI data center demand will never collapse because the government can buy excess compute capacity for mass surveillance and proactive policing.
- Author believes real-time computer vision across city cameras would require massive inference loads, creating an endless government-funded backstop for AI infrastructure.
- Quality assessment: Speculation with a macro narrative; no financial data, earnings, or concrete procurement evidence to constitute well-researched DD.

SMH - LONG | confidence: 0.55 | sentiment: +0.7

Thesis:
1. THE FACT: Author claims government agencies can step in to buy spare AI compute if commercial AI demand slows, driven by surveillance and crime-detection needs.
2. THE BRIDGE: Sustained government spending on AI inference/data centers would support semiconductor demand and AI infrastructure buildout.
3. THE VERDICT: Long SMH as a broad bet on AI compute demand being supported by government backstop.
4. RISKS: No actual procurement plans cited; government contract cycles are slow; surveillance spending could face political/legal resistance.
Timeframe: long-term
Key Points:
- Gov backstop for AI compute demand
- Mass surveillance needs huge inference compute
- No hard evidence, just macro narrative
- SMH long captures AI data center buildout
- Risk: no concrete gov procurement plans

Flock cameras and the like only does basic data labelling, car license plate look ups, and video/audio recording for retroactive data retrieval by police agencies
But imagine if we have surveillance cameras all over every single city and road, proactively detecting when criminal activity happens and sending out alerts to police. This will require an insane amount of inference load as real time computer vision for videos is extremely intensive
If consumer/business AI ever dies down, I strongly believe the government will begin shovelling money into these data centers to both achieve this goal and more importantly, save the economy/stock market from crashing
