Basically my dad passed away back in May and left my sibling and I money together in one trust account. We agreed splitting it into separate accounts made sense, and it’s been a slog getting it actually done. Timeline below curious if this is normal or if I should be looking for a new advisor.
**5/26** – Advisor agrees splitting the accounts is straightforward
**5/27** – I reply confirming
**6/22** – No response, so I follow up
**6/29** – My sibling, the advisor, and I get on a call to go over the plan. I ask for a growth-oriented allocation, around 10% (it’s currently in risk adverse investments)
**7/7** – Still no movement, I follow up again
**7/8** – Advisor finally creates my separate account
**7/13** – I send over the death certificate he needed
**7/22** – I follow up again, no movement
**7/22** – Advisor says he submitted a transfer and will check tomorrow if it went through
7/31 – Nothing since. Silence.
Is this normal advisor behavior or is it time to move on?
