I know someone has to say this here and probably take all the negativity for it. So I'll go for it.
Amazon has never been a company that focused on paying big dividends or maximizing profits every quarter. It has always reinvested heavily into the future. People questioned the spending on AWS, Prime, fulfillment centers, and logistics too. Today, those investments define Amazon.
AI is likely to be the biggest technology shift in decades. Building leadership in AI requires huge investments today. Anyone can cut spending and show better short-term profits to keep Wall Street happy. Amazon has always been willing to sacrifice short-term numbers to build long-term businesses. That's not a change in strategy and it is the very character that made Amazon what it is today.
