A year ago, I was so close to becoming consistently profitable in day trading. I managed to grow my account to almost $40k, and for the first time, I truly believed I had made it.
Then everything changed.
I went through a rough period, lost it all, and somehow managed to fight my way back to $10k—not just once, but five separate times. Every single time, I ended up liquidating my account again. It felt like I was climbing the same mountain over and over, only to fall right back to the bottom.
Now I'm sitting at -$5k, and I'm mentally exhausted. It's not even just about the money anymore. It's the constant cycle of hope, recovery, confidence, and then complete collapse. Every time I think I've finally learned my lesson, I somehow end up making the same mistakes again.
What makes it even harder is the pressure of the debt I'm carrying. It's constantly on my mind. Every time I sit down to trade, I can't focus on the charts or follow my plan because all I can think about is the money I owe and how badly I need to recover it. Instead of trading objectively, I find myself trading under pressure, fear, and desperation—and I know that's one of the worst mindsets a trader can have.
I genuinely feel trapped in this vicious cycle, and I'm starting to question whether I'll ever break free from it. If anyone has been through something similar or has managed to overcome this kind of psychological spiral, I'd be incredibly grateful to hear your story or any advice you have. Right now, I don't just need better trading strategies—I need to figure out how to get out of this mental prison.
