The bill also includes a 5% to 7% pay increase for military personnel and officially renames the Pentagon as the Department of War
After the announcement major defense contractors raised their outlooks Lockheed Martin and RTX said demand for replenishing military inventories remains very strong and they expect solid earnings growth going forward
Investors immediately moved into defense stocks Lockheed Martin jumped as much as 10% during the session RTX gained 8% and other defense names like Northrop Grumman and General Dynamics also moved higher
