I've been scoring every member of Congress by how their disclosed trades actually played out, and one guy blows the rest away.
John James (R-MI): 118 closed trades, 87% winners, roughly +22% average per trade. The members with a real sample size average about 57%, so it isn't a bull market or a tiny sample doing the work. There are real losers in there too, worst one down 44%, next to winners like THC +201% and META +56%.
The wild part: after that run he stopped trading completely, didn't buy a single stock for about two years per his filings. Then last month he shows back up and buys SpaceX on the first day it traded.
Fair warnings, disclosures lag over a month so you never get his price, and he's been flagged before for filing trades late. But 87%, then two years of silence, then SpaceX on day one, is a hell of a sequence. Anyone have a read on him or the SpaceX buy? Not holding any of it myself.
