Honestly: I love Wendy’s. The burgers are better than they need to be, the Frosty makes no physical sense (drink? dessert?), and that’s exactly the point. It’s rare to buy a stock whose product you’d happily consume anyway.
Since yesterday the place has a second draw, though: +25.7 % to $7.86, set off by a new CFO and an internet that decided this counts as a catalyst.
The interesting part is the physics, not the balance sheet:
\~34 % of the float is short, roughly 54M shares against the company
S3 Squeeze Score: 100/100
Borrow utilization at 92 %: the shorts are backed into a corner
Volume \~207M against an 8–16M average — the machine is running hot
This is the rare moment when too many people bet against a company and the outcome is suddenly open. Shorts who *have* to cover against buyers who *won’t* sell — that’s the real spectacle.
I’m in with 77 shares. Not a life-changing position — but I get a dividend, a good feeling, and worst case, an excuse to keep eating Baconators. I don’t know how the squeeze ends. But I liked the place before any of this.
*Not financial advice. Just a man who takes the burger more seriously than the stock.*
