Scientists are now testing a new drug that does something Ozempic and GLP-1 drugs can't.
It targets fat while protecting muscle.
And it's a pill, not a shot. The drug is called ATR-258.
Ozempic and other GLP-1 drugs work by changing hunger signals between your gut and brain.
ATR-258 works in a different way. It ignores hunger. It targets your muscle instead, so your muscles burn more energy and handle blood sugar better.
ATR-258 still needs larger Phase II trials. So this is early. But the idea is huge.
The obesity drug market is headed toward $100B by 2030.
