For the first time ever, I managed to pin sold puts to the exact number on the strike. I’ve never in my life seen this, but heard about it.
Sold two CSPs at $185 strike right at 10:20AM. Thoroughly had an “Oh sh!t” moment as I saw the price immediately decline from about $183 down to $173 from the moment I opened the position. By no more than 5 minutes after 12PM the price was under $173. So within 105 minutes, the price had dropped $10 lol. I was sunk, and started to worry about how low it would go. But I was determined to hold. Rolling would only be monthly, so it wasn’t an option. I held all day.
As I saw the price rebound, I gained confidence in the idea. It went all the way back to $190. At this point there were only 15 minutes or less in the trading day. I figured it would expire out of the money. In the last two minutes of the day, however, it made its way back down to $185 on the dot!
See the attached images.
As of now, it says put expiration being processed. I was certain I’d been assigned, since it went lower after hours, but I guess not! Capital still tied to CSP either way until the next trading day, interestingly.
