WRD and UBER are planning to launch robotaxis in Zurich, Switzerland after announcing their move in Madrid. At this point, Europe is moving faster and becoming a major market for AVs. Switzerland is an ideal country because it has high labor costs, making these rides highly profitable. Having approval from their regulators gives WRD and UBER a blueprint to expand in the rest of Europe. The biggest key is how these companies are expanding largely without spending huge cash and maintaining vehicles. WRD provides the software, UBER has the app and customers, a local Swiss company handles the operations. This approach allows them to grow quickly because they don't need to deal with heavy costs of vehicle maintenance and depreciation. WRD valuation now is the first publicly traded Robotaxi company. Their global footprints in China, UAE, SEA, Europe are scaling faster than expected.
