WallStreetBets filed a public comment opposing a proposed shift to semiannual securities reports, instead of quarterly reports.
The community says quarterly reporting is a mechanism by which retail investors taught themselves to read financial statements, and reducing the frequency would cut that mechanism in half.
WallStreetBets is asking the Securities and Exchange Commission not to make it harder for people to participate in public markets, stating that the Commission has spent 90 years making it easier for people like them to participate on fair terms.
