I’ve noticed that it’s become increasingly easy to see the holdings of well-known long-term investors. I’m curious how value investors here approach this. Do you ever look at the portfolios of established investors for idea generation, or do you prefer to rely entirely on your own research and valuation process?
On one hand, studying great investors can help refine frameworks and uncover businesses worth analyzing. On the other hand, without understanding the original thesis, time horizon, or position sizing logic, it may not be very actionable.
