I've been doing a decent amount of detailed valuation work, and I thought it would be fun to track, "Man vs Machine" style, how I stack up against AI.
***What prompt would you use to run this experiment?***
The goal is to make the prompt open ended enough to cover basically any company (same prompt across the board). In addition, I want to be as hands off as possible. I don't want the model to require any inputs from me (outside of maybe some corporate filings) that would affect it's output. And I want to avoid having to prod it through the exercise. Basically, I want to feed the prompt, and use the output directly. I'm currently using Gemini 3 Pro for this exercise.
***Here's an example prompt I'm thinking about using:***
**Role**: Act as a Senior Equity Research Analyst.
**Task**: Using whatever resources needed, perform a comprehensive valuation of Toast (Ticker: TOST). I have provided the last 3 years of 10-Ks.
**Instructions:**
Provide a business overview.
Provide competition overview.
Estimate the Intrinsic Value of the company based on DCF. Provide all assumptions that you use.
Estimate the expected 5 & 10-year forward total returns based on your analysis.
Provide expected standard errors for Intrinsic value and forward returns.
Do not use analyst price targets. You should build this yourself.
