how can i get into stocks?

i’m an economics student and i’m very interested in investing in stocks. i’ve done mock stock games/tutorials, but have not invested in any. i know losing is a huge part of investing, but obviously like anyone else, i want to learn enough to prevent as much loss as possible. does anyone have any recommendations on where to start? (i.e. books, websites for info., personal experience). anything is appreciated, thank you.
