Mattel (MAT) dumped -30% today after they reported lower revenue than expected and lower earnings. Additionally their 2026 guidance was significantly below analyst estimates.
My question is, is this a good time to avoid US retailers as a sector (other than consumer staples)? It's looking like consumers are struggling, especially as consumers are increasingly defaulting on credit:
