Discord has been on my radar for upcoming IPO. However, just today they announced that age verification would be required for all users, through methods of face analysis and ID verification.
The problem is that Discord had a recent cybersecurity breach that exposed 70 thousand published IDs for the age verification system.
It has also been said that Discord uses AI to “spy” on users activity to estimate their age group.
This has been getting negative feedback from the community, and many ex-users are finding alternatives, and canceling their nitro memberships.
