Can the market realistically continue growing 10% per year?

I've always wondered this, and it seems crazy to me even though it's remained true. If we take SPY for example, and say it was at $700 (I chose that for a round number; I know it's in the 670's) in 15 years, it'll be getting close to $3,000. I know inflation will continue to rise, but it seems crazy to me that the value of SPY in 15 years could be $3,000. It probably sounded unreasonable 50 years ago, but putting a number to it seems crazy. Would love to hear some thoughts on this.
