Hi everyone! I’m pretty new to investing and trying to be intentional with my first serious allocation into the market.
Right now, I have about $3,000 USD dedicated specifically for stocks/ETFs. I keep hearing that QQQ is a solid long-term investment because of its heavy exposure to big tech and growth companies, and I’m definitely interested in holding something with strong long-term potential.
However, I don’t want to put everything into just one ETF. My initial thought was to:
1. Put a portion into QQQ for growth
2. Pick 2 individual stocks with strong fundamentals
3. Hold long-term rather than trade
But now I’m wondering…
Is $3,000 too small to split between an ETF and individual stocks?
Should I just go all-in on one fund first to build a stronger base?
If you were starting with $3k today, how would you allocate it?
Would you prioritize diversification immediately, or focus on one high-quality investment?
Please ease brainstorm with me.
