Author argues AI fears for software are overblown because AI agents need proprietary data, and specifically likes Snowflake as a beneficiary being sold off.
SNOW — LONG The author argues that fears about AI disrupting software are mostly overblown because AI agents need data, and companies with proprietary data act as plug-ins for those agents. Snowflake is singled out as a company being sold off that no doubt benefits from AI, since AI cannot replace Snowflake but rather needs its AI Data Cloud for governed, sanitized, accurate data. The author expects the rise of AI agents to increase Snowflake's TAM, framing the sell-off as the baby being thrown out with the bath water.
The one company I really like that’s being sold off but no doubt benefits from AI is SNOWFLAKE. AI can’t replace Snowflake but rather it needs it. Snowflakes AI Data Cloud is where AI agents go for essentially governed, sanitized, accurate data. It’s a prime example of the baby being thrown out with the bath water. The rise of AI agents should result in an increased TAM for Snowflake in my opinion.
