What to do with GFs life savings? (Not a troll post)

Smart people PLEASE READ. Alright my girlfriend and I are 30yrs old been trying to save up for a house. Previously we've been waiting for a market crash to pile in on house or investments. So we've been sitting out on this crazy bull run waiting for a glorious crash... Now I'm seeing constant stuff about how they aren't going to have a market crash like 08 and everything is just going to continue to inflate into a K-shaped economy, and the people in my position will just miss out on the ride up from waiting patiently on the sidelines which is how we will be left with nothing but empty bags. Honestly... that kinda makes sense. So maybe we need to ride the wave? She has like 50k in the bank. I been seeing how the dollar is just plummeting. And we're losing buying power faster then we can save lol. So as of now it's sitting in a high yield savings. Which is still not enough to keep up with inflation I've discussed this with her about how it's losing value and we should probably put it somewhere. The thing is. The market is at Ass-Clenching levels of uncertainty. But I keep hearing and reading about gold and it seems like the best option to put her money in to keep it safe while the market is doing random things. But that massive hit happened to silver. Which scares me and makes me doubt my plan. But also seems like a great buying point. BUT I admit I am extremely DUMB. I'm not smart enough to KNOW what I'm doing. Or which levers there gonna pull next. My ability to royaly fuck things up is unmatched! I just know that cash is trash 🗑🚮 so we need to do something!!. What's the best thing to put money in right now?
