I feel like PayPal was intentionally set up as a trap

Stock trades for 90 a year ago on hype everyone says buy. Dips on slow growth after a pretty good earnings then the next earnings is catastrophic throw the whole thing out? What? It feels like if you tried to be logical and ignore sentiment you got destroyed here. Doesn’t even fully make sense. Assuming they wanted to protect investors… is this really the best way they could have gone about it? Why not offset the bad news with something like “we’re gonna increase buybacks”. I don’t really believe this idea that PayPal is dead or dying or whatever. But it being posted about constantly was weird when no one gives a fuck about allstate or ual or other value stocks.
