Just received the Vanguard 1099. The numbers reported in 1099 are quite different from the year end Summary of dividends and gains sent to my account at the beginning of the year.
These include the numbers in 1a Total ordinary dividends, and 2a total capital gain distributions. The number in 2a total capital gain distributions, especially, was Long term capital gains in the year end Summary of dividends and gains, now it is entered as total capital gain distributions 2a on 1099.
I have noticed these discrepancies several years now that has created problems in filing taxes.
Have you noticed the similar discrepancies, and how do you deal with the issue?
