As of today - are you looking at opportunities in Japan ?
I don't know much about the market, other than the usual stuff:
ageing population,
labour shortfall,
a more sustainable inflation
High expertise potential (robotics, high precision tools ...), but many companies still favour seniority to merit
What is your opinion on that market potential, and what are your Japanese watchlist or holdings ?
I am looking at Shimano (I like highly technical stuff that many use without knowing - a bit more under the radar. I use Shimano daily on my bike).
It has had a rough 4 years - down 35% (20% last year alone after revised forecast), but still a quality business that is used to volatility.
The revenue growth forecast is moderate - around 6%
A quick glance at the valuation shows it is probably quite fairly price (PE 30, which is a 5-year average. Knowing the mild revenue growth forecast and mild earnings growth makes the stock look fairly priced).
