Recently I was watching Mr beast (do not ask me why) and saw him promoting lab grown meat and specifically Upside food as the future. As someone into fitness I keep hearing about lab grown meat being the future but no real products I have seen on shelves. I do not have a problem with lab grown meat if it is truly identical to farm poultry and now some sad tasting nasty side effects slob.
The key advantages I infred are anti biotic free meat and way less carbon footprint. with antibiotic resistance and increasing and global warming I feel these will become key factors.
I searched online but all the articles seem to be outdated and I could find no real info. all these articles tho were talking about how it is still not feasible to produce anything mass market and the stuff is like 50$ so unviable.
Did any of these factors change with tech breakthroughs or is it a sector that is still far from profitability. Any industry insiders or food scientists here please share your thoughts.
if tech has indeed advanced and it's viable now what are the market leaders and n this sector? any public stocks we can buy or other options in the grey market? if this is even half of what it is made out to be then a disruption in the poultry industry could be a real opportunity to make some cash.
