Gonna be pulling out the main ideas of books mainly for myself, but sharing if anyone else is interested.
What I Learned Losing A Million Dollars is a memoir about a traders rise and fall in the soybean futures market. After an early string of success and meteoric rise his success goes to his head and he starts to feel invincible. Then in a major market downturn he is margin called in a leveraged position and loses $1.6 million, his job, and his reputation.
After he goes on a journey to discover the reasons for his failure. He discovers that while practitioners have lots of different (and often contradictory) approaches to investing/trading their mental and psychological processes are very similar.
Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing key ideas from the book, focusing mainly on the psychological and mental aspects of trading/investing and the rules/tools and tactics you can use to improve your process.
