Hey everyone,
I am planning to slowly realize part of my silver and gold investments. I currently hold shares in two mining companies, EXK (+71%) and SLVR (+36%). Both are mainly silver miners with some gold exposure.
Silver has risen significantly over the past year, and while I believe the trend may continue, I want to start practicing how to take profits rather than holding indefinitely. My plan is to realize around 300 to 350 USD in profit next week. I will combine this with my monthly investment from salary and reinvest.
I use the Midas platform, which charges 1.5 USD per buy or sell transaction, so I prefer fewer bulk purchases rather than frequent small ones.
At this point I have two possible directions:
\- Continue investing in ETFs like VTI, VGT, QQQM, or IVV
\- Use the realized profits to invest in stable mid to small sized companies
My idea is to treat these reinvested shares as "free" shares funded by profits. Is this a reasonable mindset?
I am still new to investing, around 6 to 8 months in, and only recently increased the size of my portfolio. My holdings are currently heavy in tech, AI, and semiconductors, so I would like to diversify.
I will of course do my own research, but I would appreciate ideas or sectors you are currently watching. The stock market feels like an ocean, and I am trying to narrow it down into a smaller pool where I can make more informed picks.
Insights on precious metals like gold, silver, and copper are also very welcome. I have had good returns so far, but I am starting to ask myself how long this trend can last, and I want to improve my ability to make decisions before giving back profits.
Thanks in advance, and wishing everyone strong returns in their investments.
