Crazy to see IBRX's mentions jump up 17400%. Anyone here invested in any of these? From what I've found Reddit mentions are a great early indicator for penny stocks. (NOTE: Its important to take MULTIPLE factors in consideration, Reddit mentions is just one data point)
Penny stocks rarely show up in traditional news early, but they often start getting discussed online well before anything shows up in earnings or filings.
Looking through the core Reddit threads on each of these:
* IBRX is getting major attention for ANKTIVA. The FDA might not require new trials, just additional data, which could speed things up dramatically. Revenue is up huge year over year. Reddit's also focused on the short squeeze potential, and analyst price target bumps added real credibility to the momentum.
* SLS is trending because of their Phase 3 cancer drug trial. Reddit likes that the trial lets patients keep dosing even if the disease returns. Phase 2 data showed promise, and the community is speculating about a possible buyout since big pharma is watching this space closely.
* XAIR's device generates nitric oxide without heavy cylinders, which is a big operational win for hospitals. Revenue is accelerating and they recently cleaned up their balance sheet. Soros Fund invested, which Reddit sees as a strong validation signal. The stock surged on the combination of clinical progress and institutional backing.
To me it looks like Reddit's picking up on real innovation before the market does. But the volatility is real, and as I said mentions are just one piece.
