I plan on going to grad school in 2-3 years, it will be fully covered -living expenses and my spouse will be working full-time during it. What would be a good idea to generate some extra money to help during that time?
Before wanting to go to grad school, I was investing in a defensive ETF and was going to switch to bonds as I get closer to buying a house. However the career I plan on going into will provide housing, so I probably won't be thinking about that for many many years.
I was thinking to start investing in a partial covered calls ETF like JEPI or GPIX or possible a CEF. I'm not too sure how I feel about a fully synthetic options ETF, I would like it to appreciate some value. Does anyone have any ideas?
And to reiterate, I'm not interested in total returns, I want stability and income to help during grad school, it's a 4-5 year program and I'll have a couple of years to investment before my income is slashed. This is to help with living more comfortably.
