Hey everyone!
I was wondering if you all could give me some thoughts on an investment portfolio for my MIL. I’m in my thirties and basically VOO & Chill 😎 so i haven’t spent as much time researching the shift from long term growth to retirement stability & income.
She recently paid off her house and is looking to supplement her social security with additional income. She’s 60.
Would anyone have any thoughts on the following portfolio balance?
60%? Dividends:
\- SCHD, JEPI, JEPQ, QQQI VYM, VIG, others?
\- would you balance the% among these or some? For example, 40% SCHD, 10% JEPI, 10% VYM? Or some logical distribution that minimizes overlapping portfolios?
15% - 20%? Growth:
\- VOO😎
X% Bonds?
\- if so what ETFs?
X% International?
\- VXUS or VYMI?
5%-10% ? Cash / HYSA
I appreciate any thoughts or recommendations I should go research for building a retirement portfolio. I also welcome thoughts if I’m completely off base here ◡̈
Thank you!
