Was looking at the long-term chart for VOO earlier and it really puts things into perspective. From 2012 to now it’s up more than 570%, and that includes everything we’ve been through along the way. Covid crash, rate hikes, tech rotations, recession scares, AI hype cycles, all of it. No matter how messy the middle looks, the trend still points up over time.
It makes me wonder if the whole “buy VOO and chill” approach really is the smartest path for most people. Just keep DCA and let the market handle the rest. At the same time, I know some people prefer tilting into different sectors or adding active picks when the market starts rotating.
Curious where everyone here stands. Are you sticking with ETFs and staying hands-off, or do you think being more active actually pays off?
