Metals are telling a weird story right now and I'm not sure what to make of it.
Gold hit $4,600 this week. All-time high. But it's not spiking — it's just sitting there. Usually when gold goes parabolic it means people are panicking. This feels more like quiet hedging.
Silver though? Not really following. Normally when gold runs, silver runs harder because it's more speculative. The fact that silver is lagging tells me risk appetite isn't fully there.
And copper is kind of stuck. If people really believed in a growth boom, copper would be breaking out. Industrial demand would be pulling it higher. But it's not.
So you've got:
\- Gold saying "something might be wrong with policy"
\- Silver saying "I'm not sure I want to bet on risk"
\- Copper saying "prove the growth story to me"
Meanwhile stocks are grinding to new highs like everything's fine. I
don't think this means crash incoming or anything dramatic. But when metals diverge like this, it usually means the market is transitioning, figuring something out.
Could be nothing. Could be early signal. Curious if anyone else watches metals as a macro tell or if I'm reading too much into this.
