I have been reading the book The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham which I am half way through. I have really enjoyed the 2024 commentary from Jason Zweig. I'm just wondering if people actually read this book and how well it still holds up today. The book talks a lot about bond, which I don't hear a lot about these days - Does anyone here actually invest in bonds?
For context, I'm male 30 and new to stock investing. I only started seriously investing half a year ago and have had decent return, but I think it's just because it has been a bull market. Now according to The Intelligent Investor, this is when I should rebalance and put the money I gained from growing stocks back into bond to keep the stock/bond ratio, but I rarely hear anyone talks about bonds around me. But with so many people speculating that the stock market would stop doing well soon, would bonds be a good hedge or should I invest in Berkshire Hathaway or just keep cash? And if bonds, which to buy?
Sorry for having too many questions, but which other resources should I consider reading or following on a regular basis? What about the books Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits and One Up On Wall Street?
