As the title says, I turned 40 this year and wanted to take my finances more seriously by investing them. I initially put $30 into VOO, QQQM, VNQ, and XRP for my crypto move. It's not much but I cashier at a grocery store and want to eventually change that so it's a start. My portfolio has some random penny stocks for fun that I've already begun to move over to ETFs. I admit that I don't know what I'm doing and am currently trying to learn more by reading investment threads and watching youtube videos. I know I have overlap on these etfs so I'd appreciate advice on that. Take it easy on me haha.
I thought I should maybe move my VOO to something else like VGT and tack on a 4th ticker that either focuses on clean energy (I know it's not doing well but I have hopes and dreams) or global investments of some sort. What I'd end up doing with my four horsemen is setting up recurring investments and a drip. Set it and forget it for awhile and just work, work, work.
I considered doing SCHD for another ETF because I like the idea of feeding dividends back into my stocks but I don't know if any of this truly makes sense. I would really appreciate your advice. I've made a strong attempt to turn my life around and coming in on 2 years sober from alcohol with no looking back. It's given me the clarity to focus and work hard. I just want to make sure my hard work is matched with big brain moves.
Thank you so much for your help. Appreciate you!
