weird post but i just needed to vent this somewhere anonymous because if i tell my family they’ll just tell me to "put it all in a savings account."
for context: i blew up two accounts in 2023 and 2024. tried the whole day-trading thing, options, following tickers on twitter. total disaster.
early this year i decided to stop trying to predict the market and just start reacting to what the "big boys" do. i got access to some specific data regarding insider flows—basically seeing where the people who actually run these companies are putting their own personal cash.
here is the thing nobody tells you about trading this way (and why i think most people fail): it is incredibly boring.
i sat on $2,100 in September, i didn't make a single move for 6 weeks. nothing. just staring at the screen waiting for a specific type of confirmation.
when the signals hit, they are astronomic. like, the data doesn't lie. i caught a few moves that made absolutely zero sense on a chart, but the insiders were loading up weeks before, so i followed.
sitting at roughly $102k as of this morning.
it feels fake. i feel like an imposter because i’m not "analyzing" anything. i’m just copying the homework of the smart kids in class.
anyway, just wanted to say that if you’re staring at 1 min charts and stressing out, you’re probably playing the wrong game. the real moves happen way slower than you think, and they are usually telegraphed if you know where to look.
gl everyone.
