AMZN — LONG The author bought AMZN call options on Jan 2 because he expected Amazon to report strong Q4 results. The catalyst was the fourth-quarter earnings release, which he believed would drive the stock higher; the option returns would track AMZN common stock. He sold the calls after a 126% gain in six days.

Bought AMZN on Jan 2 because I know that they are going to show good results for 4th quarter.

NVO — LONG The author bought NVO call options after the FDA approved Novo Nordisk's Wegovy pill, expecting the stock to jump when sales begin. The catalyst is the launch of the approved oral obesity drug, which he believes will push shares higher; the option returns would track NVO common stock. He sold some positions and plans to roll the rest to keep profits.

Bought NVO calls late December once I heard that FDA approved Wegovy pill. This was pretty obvious that the price of the stock was going to jump up after they start selling it.
