Almost daily I see an article or video of someone saying that the ultrarich just put all their assets in a trust and then borrow against them and the top of that so they don't have to pay income tax. Nobody ever talks about how to pay back these loans, as if it's just free money.
So let's just say I have $2 million worth of assets in a trust… Can you actually borrow against a stock portfolio that's in a trust? And of course you'll have to pay back the loan, so are we just assuming that you will get a favorable interest rate that is lower than the typical 6 to 7% stock yield?
