I am looking for advice on building a safe, long-term ETF portfolio.
My situation;
Income: ~$6,000/month
- I can invest $10,000 upfront
- Then $500–$1,000 per month consistently
- Goal: long-term wealth building (10+ years)
- I’m trying to keep things simple + diversified
- I prefer “set it and forget it” ETFs over picking individual stocks
What I am looking for;
I’ve been researching ETFs and I see a lot of people recommend broad index funds. I’m mainly interested in:
- safe + diversified ETFs
- low fees (expense ratio)
- not trying to time the market
- ideally something I can keep investing into monthly.
If you were in my situation, what would be a safe ETF setup for long-term investing? Would you go all-in on something like VT (global) or split VTI + VXUS?
Any mistakes I should avoid as a beginner?
Appreciate any feedback. I’m here to learn 🙏
