This is taken from a danish novo podcaster called Helge. Helge doesnt only follow novo but a wide range in biosector. Today he posted this:
Novo’s semaglutide shows something special!
New U.S. real-world data comparing semaglutide (Novo Nordisk) vs. tirzepatide (Eli Lilly) in patients with overweight/obesity and established cardiovascular disease (no diabetes) show a clear advantage for semaglutide.
After matching \~10,600 patients per group, semaglutide was associated with fewer major cardiovascular events than tirzepatide:
• \~29% lower risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, or death
• \~22% lower risk on a broader cardiovascular composite (including hospitalization for heart failure and revascularization)
These findings suggest a meaningful cardiovascular benefit for semaglutide in this high-risk population.
