Storage used to be pitched as a solar accessory. Now it is increasingly being treated like grid infrastructure: peak shaving, backup reliability, and deferring expensive upgrades.
That shift opens up multiple ways to play the theme. NeoVolta (NEOV) is a residential and small commercial storage angle, tied to backup power and behind-the-meter adoption. Flux Power (FLUX) is more industrial, focused on lithium-ion packs and systems used in equipment fleets, with some adjacency to broader storage needs.
Then you have the integrated microgrid operator and control layer. NXXT is trying to sit closer to deployment and orchestration, combining localized energy systems with software and grid intelligence. If storage is becoming a standard component of reliability projects, the companies that integrate and manage these systems may capture value differently than pure hardware sellers.
The risk is that these are not the same business. NEOV depends on residential and installer momentum. FLUX depends on industrial customer adoption and margins. NXXT depends on execution, contract conversion, and capital discipline across multiple segments.
