so my ancient plasma finally gave up the ghost right before football season, perfect timing right? now im in the market for a new tv and my main thing is sports. i watch a ton of football, hockey, and some basketball. i keep seeing reviews for "best tvs for sports 2026" but they all seem to focus on movies and gaming, which i do a little of, but not my priority.
im getting lost in the specs. is motion handling the most important thing? what about upscaling for those non 4k broadcasts that are still out there? i dont want to drop a fortune, but i also dont want blurry mess during a fast break or a deep pass. looking in the 65-inch range.
can anyone who watches a lot of live sports recommend a specific model or even just a brand/tech that's been solid for you? what makes a tv one of the best tvs for sports 2026 in your opinion? also, is the whole 120hz refresh rate thing a must-have or is 60hz fine if the processing is good?
any help cutting through the marketing speak would be a lifesaver.
