So because of that annoying guy in the sub who "Developed a trading strategy", all these gains, and he's hot, bigger meat than I, better trader than I. It made me pull out a project I have had laying around. No, I'm not a financial expert, I never made money in the market. I bet you with your gains that I have lost money faster with programming then you would be able to even place a 0dte on Robinhood, take that huh. OWHHHH!
Everyone think programming gives you this infinite money glitch, a algorithmic strategy that only wins consistent jacked up tits. I'm here telling you that isn't the case and I'll be showcasing it starting with this post for the series. I mean, programming will probably give you a infinite money glitch if your some sort of autistic Asian quant but most people aren't born that way and the only thing I understand is programming and data. A box spread? I don't even know what button to press mate. One straddle with mayonnaise and ketchup please. The main point I'm trying to make is that most humans and definitely us regards in these subs only can be good in one thing in life. And I'll be the first one to admit that trading definitely isn't one of mine. I don't know what I'm doing, I bet that 95% of you can come up with a more profitable strategy than I. But that doesn't mean I am not going to try.
So what is my plan? Options. Okay so at this moment in the program I have a lot of data but only a simple orb strategy. I honestly don't even understand 100% of it I only know that during all the paper trading tests to see if every functionality still works it only made two profitable trades out of more than 20 lol. So ORB definitely won't be it, or i'll have to refine it with more data. So I'm going to do some research into trading strategies and put something together. If you have any suggestions or questions feel free to ask. I thought it would be funny for the post journey to create self hosted Robinhood like charts to make the posts more interactive.
The caveats: So sadly I'm Europoor and my broker will close trades pretty fast for me so I can't start with too much risk. I also need to have €550,- on my account at all time because I need the data and that does cost money and I need a account balance of at least €500,-. So I have €532 in my account now, will top it off with like €500 more, if it works good maybe i'll top of more. But I'm not counting on that I usually lose everything. If I where to see it like hitting the lottery I would probably buy an insane home lab and run high frequency strategies or something.
