CES says the industry is copying Tesla’s homework… but the test is still “driverless at scale”

CES is basically a yearly TED Talk for products that won’t ship. BUT this time the signal is real: everyone’s starting to talk like Tesla. Vision-first autonomy, end-to-end nets, “physical AI,” reasoning, edge inference, the whole Tesla stack is becoming the default storyline. Mobileye looks like “L2+ is the business model, L4 can wait,” which is basically OEMs admitting they’re not shipping robotaxis anytime soon. Nvidia is like “here are the chips and models,” but OEMs still have to cook… and most can’t even boil water without a supplier. Bull case is simple: if Tesla scales driverless in real cities (not demos), TSLA rerates again. Bear case is also simple: if it stalls, it’s just another hype loop. Either way, CES didn’t prove Tesla won, it proved the industry is moving to Tesla’s architecture… late.
