Let me start by saying, without getting overly political, I am very very bearish right now. I realize that I am getting the jitters and emotions have a hold of me so I am trying to get some advice from yall. I have reduced my portfolio to a 60% cash position which I am keeping in VMFXX. The yield on that has slowly gone down to 3.70% as of today. The remaining 40% invested are in speculative plays, a loser (lesson) I am forced to hold, and some long held dividend stocks.
Right now I am feeling very paralyzed with what to do. At first my fears were the sky high valuations, now I am concerned about the dollar itself due to the erratic nature of this administration. I would like to gain some exposure to the Euro outside of just buying VGK but really am concerned about some tax/legal implications of getting exposure to that as a US citizen. Added to that, Gold and Silver are now extremely high as well, so I feel like I missed that boat.
I may continue to draw down my position in the coming weeks but need ideas on what I can be doing to position defensively. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
