Chevron is expected to jump Monday as the only US oil company positioned to ramp up in a post-Maduro Venezuela.

CVX — LONG Author expects Chevron to benefit from Venezuela's political transition because it is the only U.S. company that stayed operating under PDVSA and can ramp up operations quickly, with no reported damage to the Jose oil port or Amuay refinery. As the largest foreign investor in Venezuela, Chevron would now be free to operate profitably. The author expects a big jump on Monday.

Chevron was one of the few companies, and the only U.S. company, that stayed and operated under the thumb of Maduro's PDVSA (the State oil company). Chevron should be able to ramp up operations quickly (reportedly no damage to Jose oil port or the Amuay refinery). Now Chevron, as the largest foreign investor in Venezuela, will apparently be free to operate profitably there. CVX is one of my largest equity holdings. I'm expecting a big jump on Monday.
