Been kicking this strategy around.
I have a brokerage account just shy of 400k that I manage myself.
Goals- wanting to retire or cut back in the next 5-7 years. Kids won’t be out of school yet and we want to help as much as I possible. Don’t really need to pull money from account. Want to leave the majority of this to our kids
Strategy-
1. Put majority of the fund into Dividend Kind type stocks and DRIP.
2. When I do cut back, we can draw dividends only.
3. When we pass, basis will reset and our kids can sell and distribute without taxes.
Note: Also want to do this for kids in their custodial accounts.
