To provide context first, I'm 38M and grew up in a family who was frugal and managed their savings well, but lacked financial literacy. And so my knowledge has naturally been limited and I feel extremely far behind.
I'm looking for some thoughts on what makes up my simple portfolio:
I have 35k in my Roth IRA, all in FIPFX.
I have 159k in my 401k (SS Target 2050).
I've been contributing 15% with an 8% employer match up to the first 50%. But now I'm seeing that maybe I should be just contributing at the match and be more aggressive on adding to my Roth.
I also only have about 3 months worth in my emergency fund so I'm working to get that up to 6 months.
I'd like opinions on if keeping FIPFX is a good strategy and if altering my match strategy is the right approach.
Thanks for any response!
