Hiya, longtime lurker, don't post much in these parts. I've been fortunate to come across a decent financial windfall and am trying to find the most sensible use for it. I have no debt besides a good mortgage to pay down and a reasonably-funded emergency fund.
I have about $15K of room left to max out my 401k contribution, so was thinking about parking that amount of it in my HYSA, then ramping up my 401k contribution and backfilling the new gap in my take home pay each month from the HYSA, thus keeping the cashflow level. This would create an immediate 24% saving on taxes. I'm struggling to find a better strategy for maximizing the opportunity and this seems like the surest bet. Just here to throw this out to farm common sense and shake out anything I may not be considering.
