I need to ask this because ever since I started investing a year ago and I started to follow various subreddits and people ask to evaluate their portfolios, is always something like “ETF 1” “ETF2” “ETF3” and then “Apple who is already on ETF1” “Microsoft, NVidia” etc.
Am I missing something I should know? Shouldn’t you diversify as much as possible? Shouldn’t you actually invest in stocks (if you want to invest in stocks) that are not present in the ETFs you put money on?
I’m genuinely asking this because I’m not an expert, I started investing less than a year ago but it doesn’t make sense for me. You either invest in individual stocks or you invest in ETFs that have this stocks, right?
